Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for the Fuel Driver Class 1 AZ position at Parkland, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Valid Class 1 AZ commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Tanker endorsement (or willingness to obtain one)
- Experience operating large commercial vehicles, preferably tankers or tractor-trailers
- Solid understanding of Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations
- Knowledge of safety protocols for handling petroleum and flammable fuel products
- Ability to perform physical tasks including climbing, manual hose handling, and lifting
- Strong time management and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, weekends, or on-call shifts as needed

Compensation and Benefits
Parkland offers a highly competitive compensation and benefits package designed to attract and retain top CDL Class 1 AZ truck drivers. The estimated pay range for this position is $35 to $38 per hour depending on experience and location.

- Annual incentive plan tied to company and individual performance
- Ongoing training and professional development opportunities
- A clearly defined path for career advancement within the company
When you compare Parkland's compensation to the broader CDL truck driver job market — where Class A fuel tanker drivers in Canada typically earn between $70,000 and $100,000+ annually — this is an outstanding opportunity.
Why Choose a Fuel Delivery Driving Career?
The demand for qualified Class 1 AZ fuel tanker truck drivers in Canada is at an all-time high. Canada's trucking industry faces a well-documented driver shortage, making experienced CDL drivers extremely valuable in today's job market. Fuel delivery drivers in particular command higher wages than general freight drivers due to the specialized nature of their cargo — handling flammable liquids, petroleum products, and dangerous goods.
Choosing a fuel driver career means:
- Higher average pay compared to standard dry van or flatbed drivers
- Local routes that support a healthy work-life balance
- Strong job security — fuel will always need to be delivered regardless of the economy
- Specialized skills that make your resume highly competitive
- Union and non-union opportunities with top-tier employers like Parkland
