Trucking Jobs 10001: HGV Class 1 Tramper Driver - Immediate Start
Company: Small family haulage company based in Pontypool, South Wales
Job Description:
We are looking for a reliable and experienced HGV Class 1 tramper driver to join our team due to company growth. This role involves a mix of domestic (UK) and international (Europe) work, hauling goods in both curtain-sided trailers and refrigerated trailers.
Responsibilities:
- Drive HGV Class 1 tractor units safely and efficiently on long-distance journeys.
- Load and unload cargo securely, following all safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and professional image, ensuring both the truck and trailers are spotless inside and out.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time, demonstrating a strong understanding of drivers' hours and WTD regulations.
- Operate the digital tachograph correctly.
- Represent the company politely and professionally.
Requirements:
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) license held for at least 2 years (for insurance purposes).
- Minimum of 2 years experience in HGV Class 1 tramping.
- Over 30 years of age (for insurance purposes).
- Clean driving license with no more than 3 penalty points.
- Recent experience driving HGV in Europe.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Valid Driver CPC qualification and digital tachograph card.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, bank holidays, and extended periods away from home (both in the UK and EU).
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
- Clean and presentable appearance.
Benefits:
£160 per shift paid weekly in arrears.£26 per night out allowance.
Company pension and uniform after successful completion of a 3-month probationary period.
