Job Description

We are looking for a Class 2/4 truck driver to join our Onehunga, Auckland team.

Hayes Metals has been operating for over 93 years and is the largest copper-based ingot manufacturer in New Zealand.

We collect scrap metal and deliver our finished product across the northern part of the North Island, predominantly in the Auckland region. You will also be required to carry out some yard work, unloading trucks and processing scrap metal as required. We have a fleet of trucks from 10-wheeler hiab trucks to smaller tip and hiab combinations. If you are looking for a job where no two days are the same then this could be the job for you.

The successful applicant will have the following attributes:

• A clean, current NZ class 2/4 license. (class 5 would be desirable or a willingness to obtain one) 
• D, F endorsements, hiab, and gantry truck experience would also be advantageous.
• Be proactive and resourceful with a strong work ethic.
• Be physically fit.
• Strong supplier/customer focus.
• Be prepared to undergo a pre-employment MOJ check.
• Be drug-free and able to pass a pre-employment drug and medical test.
• Clear communications skills
• The ability to work unsupervised.
