Job Duties and Specific Skills

• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks for goods transportation
• Inspect vehicle condition, including tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage
• Drive lighter, special-purpose trucks
• Load and unload goods
• Secure cargo with tarping and ensure safety and security
• Relay information to central dispatch
• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
• Perform brake adjustments
• Handle payments for goods
• Perform emergency roadside repairs
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
• Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections
• Oversee all aspects of vehicle maintenance
• Perform preventive maintenance

Weight Handling

• Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Credentials (Certificates, Licenses, Memberships, Courses, etc.)

• Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
• Air Brake Endorsement
