We are hiring Fixed Route Bus Drivers for Asheville Rides Transit (ART) public transit services. We seek dependable, customer-focused candidates who thrive in a dynamic environment.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum age: 21 years
- At least 3 years of driving experience
- Valid North Carolina Driver’s License
- Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with air brakes and passenger endorsement (training provided)
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass:
- Pre-employment FTA/DOT drug screening
- FTA/DOT-mandated physical exam
- Criminal background check
- Compliance with FTA/DOT substance abuse testing regulations
Work Schedule:
- ART operates daily from 4:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.
- Shifts vary based on seniority and include:
- Day, evening, night, and split shifts
- Weekends and holidays
