Requirements:

• Valid Code 14 driver's license with PDP.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Long Distance Truck Driver.
• A clean driving record, coupled with a strong grasp of truck maintenance.
• Proficiency in route planning, utilizing both road maps and GPS devices.
• Ability to work extended and irregular hours while maintaining focus.
• Exceptional time management and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with federal and state laws governing the road freight transport industry.

Responsibilities: Your duties will encompass:

• Transporting freight across the country's extensive road networks.
• Strategically planning routes for efficient and punctual deliveries.
• Conducting thorough truck inspections before departure to ensure optimal performance.
• Documenting the condition of freight pre-departure and creating load inventories.
• Safely securing and monitoring the distribution of freight throughout the journey.
• Overseeing the loading and unloading processes and obtaining client signatures upon delivery.
• Performing routine service checks, including tire pressure, oil levels, fluid levels, and minor repairs when needed.
• Logging hours and distances traveled, rest break durations, as well as all fuel, repair, and toll expenses.
• Communicating promptly with dispatchers regarding any delays due to road conditions, accidents, or breakdowns.
• Adhering rigorously to federal and state trucking regulations, including mandatory rest periods and weight restrictions.

Compensation:

• Basic Salary: R8,000 + Commission (3% of Invoiced Amount per load transported, excluding VAT)
